Ignition leads are cables that run from the distributor to the spark plugs.
Their function is to conduct the voltage to the spark plug with as little loss as possible. The cables have several layers, including a thick insulation layer of silicone or rubber, as well as a rubber “boot” on each terminal.
Dielectric grease can also be applied to improve insulation and help seal out moisture.
